Employee spotlight, Claire Oram

In this Q&A, we’re finding out more about Claire Oram, one of our Wayleave Officers. Discover more on her favourite part of the role, how she would describe Trenches Law and the most satisfying moment of her time here so far…

Every person in the Trenches Law family is important to us, which is why we’ve decided to introduce you to a different member of the team each month – so you can learn more about them.

Summarise your role in one paragraph

As a Wayleave Officer, I’m responsible for contacting and negotiating with various types of freeholders to agree proposed fibre installations in multi-dwelling units, as well as liaising with our clients to ensure that all their needs are met.

What is your favourite part of your position at Trenches Law?

What I enjoy most of all is being part of an amazing and hardworking team, where each person takes pride in all that they do – and are always available for help and support.

Personally, this year had an extremely tough beginning for me due to losing my dad. I’ve therefore really appreciated working for a company where everyone at all levels genuinely cares about their team members and colleagues.

Which one word do you think your colleagues would use to describe you?

I can never pick just one word to describe me, so I asked my team for help! Responses included ‘ambitious’, ‘knowledgeable’, ‘helpful’ and ‘fun’.

What word do you think best describes Trenches Law?

There are so many I could choose for this category, but overall I think ‘disruptive’ would be a really good place to start. Trenches Law is certainly challenging the status quo and becoming a go-to trusted expert in wayleave applications, helping to improve things for the world of telecoms and Electric Vehicles (EV).

What’s been the most satisfying moment of your Trenches Law career so far?

I couldn’t decide on one moment as there have been a few. Getting my first signed wayleave was an incredible achievement and put to bed any doubts I may have had about my ability to do this role. Being acknowledged when receiving the company visionary award for November was also very nice.

If one of your colleagues could win an award (industry or office-related) who would it be and why?

I honestly couldn’t name just one person. There are so many at Trenches Law that deserve recognition for what they do and the parts they each play in the overall success of the firm.

What are your hopes for Trenches Law in the coming year?

The company has so many great plans for the future, I hope that Trenches Law continues to successfully grow, and together as a team take over the world of wayleave!
