Recognising the significance of gaining practical experience, Trenches Law opens its doors to next-generation talent on a regular basis, offering them a firsthand glimpse into the world of commercial and telecoms law. Working with our seasoned legal professionals to get insight into the diverse facets of our sector, Salesian College duo JP and Henry embarked on an enlightening week-long experience with our team last month.
Throughout the week, the pair was immersed in a diverse range of activities designed to provide them with valuable insights into the legal profession. They received comprehensive wayleave training, understanding the importance of navigating the intricate terrain of legal permissions and the significance of avoiding trespassing. Moreover, they were exposed to general administrative duties, assisting in the day-to-day running of the office, and witnessing firsthand the inner workings of an award-winning law firm.
JP and Henry also had the opportunity to dip their toes into legal activities, such as letter writing and formatting, as well as learning the intricacies of legal jargon. By engaging in these practical exercises, they gained valuable hands-on experience and honed their skills in a professional setting. Mentored by Kelly Hope, one of our wayleave officers, and Phill Stockdale-Woodhead, our people business partner, the personalised guidance offered throughout the week ensured a fruitful, enriching, and supportive experience.
Not limiting the experience to purely professional aspects, it was a pleasure to expose the duo to the lighter side of the business during Trenches Fest. This event allowed JP and Henry to witness the fun and camaraderie that thrive within the firm, showcasing the importance of a vibrant work culture and fostering a sense of community among colleagues and clients alike.
